Patterns that sound like a skill
Skills in hunter, academy and isekai stories (isekai means a person is moved into another world) follow a few habits. This page turns them into patterns. The pattern Absolute plus an element plus an action gives Absolute Frost Slash. An image plus Domain and an action gives Void Domain: Collapse. Awakened plus an image and an action gives Awakened Dragon Roar. Secret Art and Step patterns suit stealth and speed.
Single power words also work alone. Aegis is a magical shield with total protection. Eclipse is darkness that swallows light. Nullify cancels incoming magic. The Style control lets you lean toward anime-style, hunter-system or academy skills.
Rank ladders
Each card carries a rank badge from the ladder you choose. The knight ladder runs Aura User (a faint layer of energy on the weapon), Sword Expert, Sword Master and Grand Master. The mage ladder counts circles, from a novice to the 9th Circle. The hunter ladder goes from F and E rank, through D to A, to S-Rank and finally National Level, a hunter with the power of a nation.
These ladders are shared conventions in many Korean-style stories, not fixed law. Rename any step to suit your world.
Match the name to the rank
Big words promise big power. Let Absolute or Awakened belong to a Sword Master or an S-Rank hunter, not to a first-year student. Look at the meaning in Details before you commit. A Requiem skill (a solemn chant for the dead) sounds final, so save it for a turning point.

How is a skill different from a spell here?
Spells on the spell page use Latin incantations. Skills use plain English power words and always come with a rank from a ladder.
