Treasure, pill or murim blade
Treasure mode joins grade, material and item type: Heaven Grade Cold Jade Flying Sword 天寒玉剑. Types go beyond swords, to cauldrons, mirrors, banners, zithers and hairpins. Pill mode joins a function with an ending. Foundation Building Pill 筑基丹 uses 丹 (dan), the elixir pill, while 丸 is a softer pill, 散 a powder and 露 a pure dew. Murim blade mode joins a weapon and a template, such as Muyeonggeom 무영검, the Shadowless Sword.
A 剑 (jian) is a straight double-edged sword. A 刀 (dao) is a single-edged saber.
Grades and materials
One classic ladder runs Heaven, Earth, Mysterious, Yellow. Another runs Divine, Immortal, Treasure, Spirit, Mortal. Add Supreme, Peerless or Half-step to finetune. If every blade is Heaven Grade, the grade means nothing, so keep top grades rare.
Some materials are real, like soft jade (nephrite), agarwood or meteoric iron. Others are genre inventions, like Starlight Iron.
Herbs that read badly
The pill herbs mix real plants and invented ones. Ginseng 人参 and snow lotus 雪莲 are real. Nine-Leaf Grass is fictional. Heavenly Fairy Seed 天仙子 sounds lovely but is a toxic sedative. Horny Goat Weed 淫羊藿 is a direct English rendering that reads like a joke, so it carries Check meaning. For a serious scene, show the Chinese name or choose another herb.
